Having spent 5 months in the area last winter I had the chance to speak with hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people in New Orleans and surrounding area. While I didnt keep a running count, looking back I'd say that atleast 4 of 5 people said they would NOT vote to reelect Nagin yet he somehow is still there.....spouting his racists views, blaming everyone but HIMSELF and basically making a jackass of himself. He had YEARS to prepare for what happened there!! Geez!!!

I agree and was just having this conversation the other day.

Like I said when they re-elected him, New Orleans is on their own as far as I'm concerned.

Nagin is a crack smoking moron.

I sat thru 2 hours of that crap on HBO the other day and all any of them did was point fingers and whine about the feds. Someone needs to sit Nagin down and explain to him that he is the primary when its a New orleans problem. Heres the race card! He got reelected because his constituents are African -American and the opposition ran a white man against him.

HEY NAGIN - THERES A HURRICANE FORMING IN THE GULF. ITS COMING THIS WEEK. GET A PLAN.

Hey Kool Rock! What storm did you watch?

He should have been tried for murder instead of being reelected. Having hundreds of buses and boats available and letting thousands stuck in the city is unforgivable. The governor of the state was just as ineffective and Yet most blame the Feds instead of the locals. The corruption and ineffectiveness now shows in the way Mississippi is making progress while Louisiana is spinning wheels and wasting billions. Way to go Nagan. Keep those corrupt dollars coming.

He organized a successful exacuation of New Orleans. He mobalized city workers days ahead of time to move the elderly, and immobile to safe locations while it was affordable.

HE made sure evidence rooms were safe out of flood levels so criminals werent set free due to loss of evidence.

He made sure the long known results of a disaster in new orleans could break levees, would NOT have maximum damage to people by preparing them.

He saved lives.
