The Wii is the cheaper system as it will only cost you 225-250 bucks for the system, but the graphics are weak seeing how the PS3 is 512 bits and the Wii is only half of that. Plus the game line-up is made for children, once you get past Zelda and Metroid the rest of the game line-up is for kids 14 and under, but you can go on-line and download old Nintendo games for a small fee so that is cool. The PS3 on the other hand will cost a lot to buy (599.00 plus tax) so be pre-paired to pony up the dough if you decide to go with the PS3. But the graphics are state of the art and the games are very good as well, plus you get the blue-ray DVD player, and that alone would cost you 1000.00 bucks. The PS3 also does so much more then just play games, it does music and DVD downloads as well as on-line stuff and video. So the PS3 does more but it also cost more, so if you just the average player go with the Wii, but if you are hardcore go with the PS3.

Wii is cheap and family friendly. PS3 is what the games will go for. Take you pick.
