Naruto: Ultimate Ninja - Special Ninja Tools?

Question

Well, I do the practice missions, and there's one where I have to get special ninja tools from Naruto. I don't know how to get them. I see that people say to get them from breaking things, but I hit all of the stuff in the stage, but I don't find any. The ninja tools are like Kunai, or Shurikan, right? Should I go to the little gumball machine thingy?
