A few people liked Bush.
A few people liked Kerry.
Most people didn't like either.
But most people disliked Kerry MORE than they disliked Bush.

I'm not so sure myself. Considering how the country has been run by republicans these last two decades, I'd say the republicans are running the country pretty poorly, but the "red" states have no REAL idea of how bad the shape the country's been in. With the current war in Iraq, I suppose the country says "well we've been for the most part safe since they started war, maybe this'll continue until it ends". BUT WHEN YOU LOOK DEEP DOWN, EVERYTHING'S F***ED UP!
Though republicans (I hate to admit) have a more firm grip on politics than democrats. Democrats seem to be too loose on matters (not entirely war-starting bad though). I guess for 51% of the nation, Americans are fine with things the way they are now in their daily lives and believe that Kerry may mess up some things. It's kind of funny though, if the majority of the people in a state vote for a certain person, the electoral college has to vote in their favor otherwise on the news they'll be deemed as "the bad guy" and won't get reelected even if they were a personal friend of the person campaigning opposite.

the serious answer, because Rove is a genius. He made the country so bad that for any one to fix the problem, they would have to do unpopular things in order to do so. (i.e. the deficit, which was a big discussion during the election. Lower taxes, keep on doing so and eventually there will be a point where you can't do it anymore, we actually past that point). How the hell does the people accept lower taxes during 1) the hugh federal deficit 2) an unbalance federal budget and 3) while fighting a war which cost a billion dollars a day. You just can't do it. But lower taxes does make people happy, it's like giving people a credit card, spending if fun, the statement at the end won't be. Seriously for anyone to fix our budget problem, taxes Need to be raise, money is not going to appear from nowhere. And just so you know, I'm single and middle income, yes I get taxes so much, it literally hurts but you have to pay your bills.
2nd, comments like Cheney made, where if you vote Democrat, we will get attack. That was a morally wrong statement to make and pretty much just played on people's fears. Democrat or Republican, don't doubt it people, we will get attack again.
There are more example but these two give you a good picture of how this President stole ANOTHER election.

Actually the supreme court elected Bush. I am a concervative Republican but after this I can not vote like this anymore.it is truely A discrace. the worst part is that like the Kennedy assasignation, and others we just stood by and let it happen. I grew up in the 60`s and then we would have burnt cars, rioted in the streets and other stuff. Anything but let it stand like it did. Today, kids don`t care about anything! well, that`s not true, they care about they`re bling-bling, & rap, & there parents money. but if they actually have to do something {besids *****} they`re to lazy. Maybe we wer`nt right, but we did something!

He was not elected - he was selected by people that have more power than the American Public. At a private fund-raiser in Los Angeles for Democratic Sen. Jean Carnahan of Missouri, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton told the crowd that President Bush merely had been "selected" president, not elected, Newsweek reports in the current issue. "Beware the false prophets".

Several key reasons. Kerry talked himself out of office because he could not keep on track. He zig-zaged back and forth on several issues and appeared to be a hypocrite. His wife helped him lose with her stupid comments. He was weak on terrorism and Americans were afraid that he would give away America to the Jihadists. His attitude during the Vietnam was was unAmerican even if what he had to say might have been correct. The last ad campaign by navy men who served when he served murdered him. He didn't fight back with vim and vigor. They got away with it. Bush played on Americas fears. He was also supported heavily by the Christian right and ultra-conservatists.

Bush alligned himself with the conservaties of the American society, the various shades of christians;he supported policies they fancy and he used issues that they like as a bait for their votes he pretended he is one of them but genuinely he is not, they dont behave as bullies as Bush does. These people are really very influential in the US and you'll underrate them at your peril. The other group are the coperate America, they have a lot of influence and they can sway the tide especially when you talk of elections. The last point is the atmosphere of fear that had been planted in the psyche of most Americans,Bush capitalised very well on the events of 9/11 and the subsequent War against terror to heighten the state of fear on his people who are craving to be secure,he projected himself as their best bet in the times of war and he made them believe they are at war,how can you be at war with the likes of Usama whose family and country,Saudi Arabia is very close knit to the Bush family and had done profitable business and are still doing with various American governments??? How can Bush win such a war when he is not honest about his motives. This worked to his advantage during the elections and the American people fell hook line and sinker to his lies. We've all come to see that the war on terror is no where near an end,the lives of American soldiers is being wasted on the streets of Baghdad for no reason and not even one American top politicians can agree for any of their children to go to Iraq. The American people voted for Bush on the bases of lies and fear, the hand of the clock cannot be turned back again as the Bush era will always stick out as a sore tumb in American history.

What can we expect from a country that will buy light beer, Wonder Bread and Pop-Tarts? Bush was just some slick packaged pile of manure sold as health food.
