ARE YOU KIDDING ITS BON JOVI
YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME
An angel's smile is what you sell
You promise me heaven then put me through hell
Chains of love, got a hold on me
When passion's a prison you can't break free
You're a loaded gun ... yeah
There's nowhere to run
No-one can save me, the damage is done
Shot through the heart, and your to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give love a bad name
You paint your smile on your lips
Blood red nails on your fingertips
A school boys dream, you act so shy
Your very first kiss was your first kiss goodbye
You're a loaded gun
There's nowhere to run
No-one can save me, the damage is done
Shot through the heart, and your to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give love.....
Shot through the heart and your to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
Shot through the heart and your to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give love....
You give love a bad name
You give love....
You give love a bad name
You give love....
You give love a bad name

It's funny how so many bands from the late 60's and 70's had pop sounding filler type songs as radio hits. While If people were to look beyond, and dig a little further into their catalog, this is hardly representative of what these bands were about. Here's a few examples: The Guess Who - 'These Eyes' and 'Undone'...these are two of their biggest hits. Very mellow songs with an almost sappy ballad feeling. This sometimes causes people to stop there, and not venture any further into the bands back catalog. They did release some great music outside of their top 40 material. Emerson Lake & Palmer - 'From the Begenning' & 'Lucky Man'. Not a top 40 band, but these songs were hits and do not showcase the bands full capabilities at all. Grand Funk (Railroad) - 'We're an American Band' & 'Locomotion'. Poor examples of a great proto-metal band. If people think that this is an indicator of how they sounded...they're wrong. Check out their material prior to these polished radio friendly hits. Jethro Tull - 'Bungle in the Jungle' and 'Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of The New Day'. Nice mellow radio friendly tunes, and hit singles for the band...but again, they dont really do the rest of the bands material any justice whatsoever. Procol Harum - 'Whiter Shade of Pale'. Great song, and when people hear it they automatically think of the 60's. But for me it's always seemed like a flimsy example of what Procol Harum were really all about. They were an awesome hard rock/psych band as well, capable of rivalling other bands at the time like Ten Years After, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin. As a matter of fact, their drummer BJ Wilson was Jimmy Page's first pick to fill the mighty Zeppelins drum stool back in 1968! But Mr. Wilson was content with where he was. Procol Harum also featured the guitar talents of Robin Trower on their 1st four albums. Robin would later go on to have a sucessful solo career in the 70's. Steve Miller Band - 'The Joker', and 'Fly Like an Eagle'. These were two of his biggest hits, and sadly many formed their opinion of The Steve Miller Band based on these songs. The 7 albums released between 1968-72, prior to the international commercial success of 'The Joker' are really worth looking into. I find that period of the band to be their most creative. Especially the first couple albums while Boz Scaggs was a part of the line up. Nice hard rock/blues, with a very progressive/psych edge.
