marriage means a lot of thing first i would say that it is all about love and being faithful to one person when you are in love with someone it means no matter what happen to him you will always stand by him and u can not forget trust i got married when i was 16 and did not know anything about marriage but now i am 27 and still married its a lot of hard work if i had to do it again i probably would have waited but i learn about life and marriage at a early age i like that i am married i love my hubby very much still after all this time marriage has its ups and down but when u are married you can not just run away you have to try to work things out and hope for the best

I wasn't going to answer this one but read the answers and noticed no one really mentioned to "preethi" what God had to say about marriage.
One of the things said was Husbands love your wives even as Christ loved the church.
That love was all encompassing, He was always seeking ways to make things better for even the lowest on the social ladder.
If couples start out loving one another unselfishly, then marriage can be the most beautiful of unions. It's only when one partner decides to go his or her own way that things get so messed up.
Love is a commitment and that very word means work, not a joy ride full time. It means do what is good for one another and honor the commitment even if you find yourself tempted to do something else. I think that is the biggest point,, doing what is right not what you want to.
A good short verse says it all. Love one another.

nothing. marriage bears no value to me. i'll push the relationship to the next or final level, but the ceremony and the ring doesn't mean anything to me. i'm married because i feel i'm married and not because some old minister says i am. the diamond ring symbolizes eternity? bah, just look at the divorce rates. my partner means something to me, but marriage is a dumb human invention to me. marriage doesn't mean a transformation, it is the couple that transforms and keeps the relationship alive, honest, loving, or whatever, the actual title of marriage has no intrinsic value or meaning, therefore it has no value to me. marriage have legal reprecussions for my partner, but i have no plans bring there.

as for what role it plays, it's a culturally acceptable source for security, sex, and love. naturally, i don't believe animals "marry" and i don't believe humans are too far away in true nature.

as for what i expect from my partner, the foremost is top secret, the others are intelligence, compatibility, staying healthy, agreement on some important practical matters, and love.

Personally, marriage is very important to me. I married my husband when I was 18, and that was five years ago. We have no children yet. However, I think that it is important to set a good example for our children when we finally have them.

I expect my husband to be honest, faithful, supportive, understanding, loving, etc. Being married plays a very important role in our lives because we help each other to be better people and achieve more in life.

a youth can always say that marriage is a stupidity, but somewhere in his or her heart they are eager get marry......therefore marriage can be a life time assignment of love for one. and also after marriage there is only one expectation of a youth that there should not be any kind of restrictions, and if there is, then people should answer their questions..........it's their right to know why they are bieng stopped to do something.....

well. for me marriage is a very very importat bond. It's not only the title itself, but the responsibility that it implies. also, it's a vote of love. I think it's very special and strong. i don't understand people that just play the marry-divorce-marry game. still, for me it's more important love itself than marriage. it's just sad how people confuse these two terms that only together make sense.
