1. NTFS stands for NT File System. It's better than FAT32, which is used on Windows 9x and ME. Win2K and XP can use either FAT32 or NTFS.
2. CHKDSK is a tool for checking a drive for errors. It can correct errors in the file allocation tables, detect bad sectors, and lots of other problems.
3. D: could be either NTFS or FAT32.
