It's not that challenging for a criminal to go down to the ghetto, purchase a throw away gun, kill someone, dispose of the gun. Any true criminal isn't going to be effected by this bill, it is simply going to raise prices for gun manufacturers and also consumers. It would seem it is designed to make it impractical for any non criminal to own a gun..

The problem is banning things just does not work. New York city has the tightest gun control laws in the world and as you can see how effective that is. Switzerland has a automatic weapon in every house, very little crime. Drugs are banned, Prostitutes are banned, drinking and driving is banned, Drive down most city streets after 10 and you can find all the above you want.
If I was really going to commit a crime that could get me sentenced to years in prison, just how much does the fine for the gun bother me. Even if it adds on a year or two to my time. If the first twenty doesn't stop me the extra for the firearms violation isn't going to make me blink

it will only make it harder for the law abiding citizens to defend them selves. the gun industry will (i hope) not comply with the requirement, and spot selling there products in the state, to all costumers (similar to what Barrett did). the criminals will simply use a file on the firing pin, as well as on the serial numbers.

the problem is that guns don't kill people but people kill people. we need to ban the bad people the guns wont kill anyone after these people are banned
