That was good that you put the vegetable on the trap. You're smart, and compassionate. I think the mouse will be okay; he will probably be able to lick off most of the oil and glue. He's probably a baby if he's that small. And you're right, those glue traps are evil. The mice suffer terribly when they get stuck on those, and as well they often trap spiders and other creatures. I hope you keep putting oil on the traps if your dad keeps putting them out. Congratulations!

The mouse will likely be okay- even if it isn't, it'll likely live a happier life (or death) than it would have on a glue trap. Glue traps have got to be the worst, and most inhumane, way of getting rid of "pests". Glue traps don't just "keep them from moving"- mice have been known to chew or rip off their own body parts in order to get away. Unless checked on regularly, those mice that cannot escape usually end up dying of dehydration or stress.
Not a pleasent way to go! Try to look into ways of preventing mice from going into your home. Glue traps are not a long term solution. You can even buy metal bread boxes and such to keep your grain products in (cereal, etc.) which is what we use at my house. Don't leave food or garbage lying around or near the house, nor things like old boxes of hats and clothes and stuff. Those are perfect homes for mice. Things like that can often make a big difference!

It'll probably be alright. If you're concerned try going out and getting a pack of humane traps and replacing the glue traps with them. This way you can get rid of the mouse without hraming him or her. Those glue traps are pretty evil. Just make sure you're on top of checking the traps, starving to death inside one is no nicer than a death on a glue trap!

i'm so happy u did that! your dad will probably never know---dont tell him! put oil on all of them so the glue wont work for the next mouse! if the spot is small he should be ok. his fate if left on the trap is worse--he'd definitely die if u didnt free him. at least now he has a chance. have u tried to find out where theyre coming in so u can close the hole? try putting some strong scents such as cayenne pepper, moth balls, or peppermint extract out because they hate the smell.

The glue isn't cruel to the mouse, it would only keep it from
moving. What you did by putting vegetable oil on the trap
completely defeated its purpose.

have your dad use the small mouse traps that are like cage and once a mouse goes in, it is hard for it to come out(but it doesn't hurt the mouse). Having a mouse inside your house is not a very good idea. but killing one is also barbaric. However, I think your mouse being so small probably will not make it but I hope it survives.

I think the mouse will be fine it will probable lick the glue off, if the glue is poisonous then....well you know. How could people be so cruel to a poor little mouse. :( To get back at him you should buy a pet mouse lol. only 1 buck!

next time he puts those down when do get the mouse off wear some leather gloves so it doesnt bite your hand so yourself, althouhg just getting rid of the traps in the first place might help. Convince your dad to buy live traps and buy one of thoses critter keepers nad every so often just realease them a few miles down the road

each so often if my mouse is appearing up, i'm going to scrub the backside of it. because of the fact my mouse is a Lazar mouse, i do no longer pick a mouse pad. attempt and notice if there is any style of hair or airborne dirt and dirt on the backside. 2nd is to work out if it works extra effective with or without the mouse pad.

mice are not cool my friend. I know they are cute, and they are living, but they also put your health at risk. They are not to be lived with or tolerated. I tried every humane way of trapping them before resorting to the glue traps myself. And I did have to put them out of their misery via plastic bag once trapped on the pad (either that or drown them). It's not a pretty part of life but unfortunately it is necessary. But if you like living with vermon, then by all means have fun. In a house, all by itself, away from other's...
