Try to keep in mind that your high school years are supposed to be some of the greatest years of your life. I can safely say that the statement is true for me. I'll be starting college in a couple weeks and I miss high school tremendously.

Everyone is in the same boat as you, and people who are going to be sophomores, juniors and seniors, were all freshmen at one point too. You're not alone, and everyone is probably feeling the same way.

Think of high school as a place where you'll be allowed the chance to meet and befriend totally different people, and have fun, go to dances, social events, football games, etc. It's a really fun time, and it will go by fast. (Just make sure you work hard and get good grades, too, though!) Try not to be stressed over it. I wish I didn't stress out as much because now I regret not living it to the fullest.

Good luck, and relax! You'll be fine. :)

Its easy to get stressed out your freshman year. Try to keep some prespectiev- lots of other kids are just like you this year, just starting out, and the others were in your shoes not that long ago. You will make friends, learn your way around school, etc. in not long- you just have to give yourself a chance. Be yourself, be honest and a good listener, and you should have no problems getting laong with people. Get involved in a club at school that interests you, so you can have opportunities to meet and know other students and make friends. Make sure to get plenty of sleep and stay organized. Nothing beats being properly rested and prepared for your classes. Make sure to fit in time to get some excercise after school of some kind- believe it or not, a walk, a run, shooting some hoops, dancing to your favorite cd can take the edge off a stressful day. And talk to your parents, grandparents- some family memeber close to you- even ift heir situation was different ( they're so much older, right? haha) they were in school once too, and know what you're going through. Even if you dont want to talk about school, it helps to have someone to talk to about each day and kind of debrief. Dont worry too much- in a month or two, you'll know the school well, have friends, and it will be so easy, you will be sailing through the days, anxious for a holiday break.

Just be yourself and try to make some friends. Don't let yourself be intimidated by the older kids. They were all freshmen once too.
