I have just read some of the most ignorant questions. People that dont know what racism is or have any knowledge of history, and a few that just make me want to turn off the computer. I need to know, when did this happen?

That is the world. There are ignorant people in it and some with brains. They post "dumb" questions to get either a rise out of you or a quick history lesson. It don't bother me because I know they are obviously looking for attention even if its negative.

I think people are affraid to learn solid truths. They don't like something, so they ignore it. Then when it comes time to speak on that issue, they submit questions to satisfy a momentary frustration, rather then educating themselves with hard truth.

So I'd say, people have been ignorant for centuries. We just haven't had the means of knowing how many until Yahoo! Answers came about.

When the Teacher's unions became the most powerful unions in the country. When teachers became more concerned about Johnny's feelings than they were about whether he could write his own damn name. When kids starting having kids and parenting enterfeared with their good times, or Johnny's Dad had more important things to do than support his kids or the woman that was trying to give them a home.
When Parents stopped teaching their kids how to become well ajusted citizens before teaching them how to become parents.

Perhaps that's a question best posed to an anthropologist. The world has never suffered from a shortage of fools. It likely never will.

The computer age. People quit thinking and started letting the machines do it for them.

I think many people on this site post ignorant and racist questions to get a rise out of people.

You, too, seem to be somewhat unfamiliar with your history.

Humans have *always* been this dumb. In fact, for most of history, they were even more ignorant.

As far as these things go, we're making progress. Although the average human is still an ignoramus by my standards, the problem isn't nearly as bad as it used to be.

But we've still got work to do.

Ignorance has always been there. Today in the US its against illegal immigrants, usually hispanics, but it was there even with the cowboys and indians...Its what humainity does.

But with the internet its more open
