California...anything south of Santa Barbara if you are young...it's a young place. Anything you know about American you learned from the telly, right? Well, that's like what you have seen...surfing, swimming, cool stuff. Anything else, save Ft. Lauderdale FL on college spring break would be foreign to you. Yes, that is it. California, they'll love you with that accent. Americans love "certain" accents...you got one of them. Have fun in the sun.

What do you do? The San Francisco Bay Area is still "center of the universe" for high-tech, with Seattle a close second.
Not much going on in Portland, OR but we'd love to have you. I haven't yet met an Aussie I didn't like. :-) (And I keep expecting to hear "Naw, mate, there's this bloke in Canberra who's a total git, you'd bloody hate him!")
Actually, that's not entirely true, it's opening up some here in PDX -- but not as much as San Francisco.

Don't settle for just one city. Get a job with the airlines and see the USA or drive truck you can see USA sitting in big rig granted. They are not as big here as they are in your area. We have only 18 wheels. USA is like your country. We have all kinds of weather conditions and climates big cities and small cities. Flat land and mountains. If u come u must see it all. and meet people from all walks of life we are all here scattered out across this great land.

California best weather in the USA, I wouldn't move for the world. Everyone I know who has moved away always came back. You have beautiful beaches, snow skiing, hot deserts, two huge cities, I mean whatever kind of weather you seek you'll find here, also great places to camp and fish.

What kind of work do you want to do? What sort of things do you like doing. What can you afford and or what are you willing to give up by living in a new place. It's not gonna be easy sailing so you'll have to adjust.
You can e-mail me if you wanna. I'd be happy to assist in anyway I can. I'm fairly knowledgeable of the east coast US. I also have a really great friend in Melbourne.

there are many factors that you should consider... First off is weather? do you like the heat, rain, cold, humidity??? If you like the sun and occasional rain try Southern California. (but you will need access to a car). Or if you don't mind the humidity and the cold... try New York. you don't need a car, but cost of living is really expensive. it's a toss up! good luck.

You decide. The Gulf Coast has hurricanes, California has earthquakes, Arizona has sand storms, the north has snow storms, Kansas has tornadoes, and Hawaii has volcanoes. But I love the US. Move to Florida anyway.

You should consider Alaska. It truly is the last frontier within the USA.

do some research on areas you may like to live, jobs in the area, crime ,schools etc.. but doing research is probably going to be your best way to find out places to go.
