I heard that the planet mars will come close to earth tonight.

This close encounter happened three years ago in Aug 2003.
Infact Earth is outracing Mars in orbit and the Sun Hence is between Mars and Earth making it impossible to see Mars at all! Many people who missed this sight in Aug 2003 will not to get to see it for sometime atleast not the ones alive right now but yes some of our future generations are set to see this sight pretty soon approx. in another 281 years.This event is set to happen again on Aug 28 in the year 2287.

That doesn't make sense to me, since Mars can't come close to the Earth for just one night. And anyway, it doesn't look like the moon.

Just went out... Can't even see 1 moon...lol... North Fl.
