Don't try too hard, be yourself. Inner beauty is more important. Have self confidence, believe in yourself (for if you don't believe in yourself, nobody will!). Be friendly, honest and sincere. Be interested in other's (not yourself). Tips on how to be a friendlier person:
1.Don’t criticize, condemn or complain.
2.Give honest, sincere appreciation.
3.Arouse in the other person an eager want.
4.Become genuinely interested in other people.
5.Smile :-)
6.Remember that a person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
7.Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
8.Talk in terms of the other person’s interests.
9.Make the other person feel important – and do it sincerely.

Get an entirely new dooo. If you have long hair, bob or crop itif you have short hair, cut it shorter or color it. Buy a few new make-up items, something you don't normally wear. Got to a makeup counter have the girl there do your make up. Pick out a good neautral lip shade, (dark but not too dark, not too pink or red or brown, but in between), a gloss, an eyeliner, and a glimmer shadow. You dont need foundation and poewder and all that. The best part would be the hair though. it may be a little pricey, but go somewhere that is really good, and tell them you need something HOT and drastic. you'll feel new after, and the rest will fall into place. The make up is the easy part. Focus on lips or eyes but not both. Switch it up, and smile sexy!

It's more important that you are happy on the inside. As long as you aren't happy with yourself, you will always find something to criticize on the outside.
Start by getting a free makeover at your local department store cosmetics counter. The woman there can suggest good styles and techniques for your face.
If you have a trusted stylist, ask her to suggest hair do that would complement your face shape and hair type.
When you go shopping, take a friend or relative with you who you think has great taste. Ask her to help you pick out the best clothing for your coloring and body shape. If you find that she is pointing you in the direction of the same things she wears, try another person. Not all styles will look good on all people. If you don't have anyone, ask a sale clerk to help you select things that will look good on you. While you don't have to buy them, you could at least get another point of view.
Try a virtual makeover. They can get you started on a good look. You'll have to register, but it's free at these sites.

First you should go to a beauty counter and get some tips from a professional make-up artist, learn about the shades/tones, look that matche with you beauty.
Agreat idea would be try the BARE MINERALS makeup kit, easy to apply and it makes ur skin looks like a magazine cover.
Anyway , before anybody notice your looks, you should love it, and be happy with yourself!!!
take care
