As soon as you break the glass, the gas inside of fluorescent tubes escapes. What you find in the remaining tube structure is the powder that fluoresces when electricity passes through the gas. Part of the residue contains mercury, and ingesting even a small amount of mercury can lead to death, or a lifetime of painful maladies. In short, you will not get high, but you may hurt enough to wish you were.

Good luck!
