PLEASE HELP ME! Brand new black ink cartridge installed correctly. When i go to print something black, the cartridge carrige moves as it should but no ink comes out. I tried old cartridge that had ink and i tried new cartridge. I even made sure the plastic was off of them. The printer works fine with color. If I print something in gray it also works correctly but for some reason when I print something, there is no black on the paper. Any ideas? I'm very good with computers and this is the first time this has happened. I have correcy ink cartridge.

Well, after extensive testing, I've come to the conclusion that there is a faulty wire between the Printer and the black ink cartidge slot. The only solution is to buy a new printer. With printers being cheaper then ink cartridges these days, i guess it won't be soo bad. Thanks anyway

If a cartridge sits empty for more than two weeks then ink particles in the nozzles will dry up and the printer head can cause permanent damage to the other parts of your printer. If you think your printer nozzles have clogged up place the clogged nozzles in warm water and soak them until the dried ink begins to flow from the nozzle. After letting the dried ink flow, remove the nozzle from the water and dry it with a soft tissue or cotton swab that does not have lint. Reinstall the cartridge and run the print head cleaning program and mechanical sequence provided with the printer software.

Just throwing out a couple things here; I know you said you removed the plastic cap, but is there also a thin piece of tape covering the cartridge nozzles? If so, that needs to be removed. The next thing I would mention is trying a thorough cleaning of the heads using the "clean" portion of the printer's maintenance software. You didn't mention the manufacturer of your printer, but you might also try going to the home webpage of the printer and see if there's a FAQ section that might deal with your problem. Good luck.

It might just be a faulty ink cartridge. I would get another one and try it.
