Basically There is not enough time or room to explain all positions , but what you can expect is first thing the coaches are going to look at your size and see how fast you are that will be the main things that will tell what position you are best suited for , If you are taller than most and can catch a football you will most likely be put in an offensive position called wide receiver , that;s a good thing ! But you should be upfront with your coach and tell him your not that experienced , believe me if your fast and can catch they will work with you to teach you the position , until then you really cant do anything about your speed in two days but you can have someone throw you a football a couple hours a day to better your hand-eye coordination , well I hope I was some help , GOOD LUCK I hope you make the squad !!!
Let me know how it went !

It's going to depend on what level you are trying out for, if it's High School they are going to put you and everyone else through a lot of drills and conditioning. After they do these things they will address each position separately. Now know this, most of the kids that have played for a few years will have already been evaluated by the coaches thanks to game film and old coaches. It will be tough to get a starting spot unless you are a natural or gifted, but don't let that get you down hard work and dedication go a long way to getting what you want in all areas of life.

Good Luck and most of all HAVE FUN!!!!

i play football and i find that the coaches like to see the player running as fast as he can no matter what he is doing. Basically if your a running back youll need to be really quick or really strong. QB you will need to be fast if your still in highschool because highschool ball is all about scrambling and making a play out of nothing, you may be good at it if your tall. You also might want to be a wide recever because your tall, so you will probably have an advantage over the opponent. On defense you will need to be really fast inless you are on the line then you will need to be strong

eat a light break feast trust me... i ate oatmeal and a granola bar and milk and threw up 15 times during speed training stick with toast and a glass of water, as far as lunch in between practices i like a peanut butter sandwich with a gatorade and some grapes, its light provides good energy and its just enough to keep you full but not sick for your second practice, i cant stress enough that you need to drink a ton of water i usually drink one bottle before and 2-4 during practice the first day of two a days i felt sick and light headed because i barley had water, if you dont like toast for break feast try a nutrigrain bar those are good to. Hope this helps because my football team is currently pulling two a days so i know what your going through. Good luck!

Don't worry about not knowing the positions. Your coach or coaches are there to teach you and help place you where you can help your team the best. Just be sure and listen and follow through with everything they show you. You'll do fine and you'll learn a lot. Good luck.

P.S. You're not an idiot. Although I have my doubts about Bubchaffee.

Your coaches will determine your position. Don't worry, they will teach what you need to know. They also have playbooks which tell you essentially where to be on the field and what you will be expected to do. There have been many non-football athletes that made a transition to football later on.

Possisions? Forget football, learning to spell and write will do you more good in the long run.
