There hasn't been. Worldwide, there's less wars now than in most of the 20th century. The difference is that alot of the fighting now involves the USA (Iraq and Afghanistan) and that the rise of the Internet and the 24 hr news channel means that we have more access to war coverage.

In the 80's there was just as much fighting in Lebanon, plus USSR was fighting in Afghanistan plus the Iran-Iraq war and the Falklands. Much more fighting than today.
In the 70s, there was Vietnam plus war all over Southeast Asia, India-Pakistan, Pakistan-Bangladesh, the 1973 war between Israel and Egypt/Syria, etc. Much more fighting than today.

Its called critical mass. There are too many people in this world. When you place ten rats in a cage with enough room to roam around then things are cool. When this roaming room is eliminated by the addition of more rats, they will attack each other. Drive through any high crime area and you will probably find rows and rows of apartments with little room for such amenities such as parks or other outlets for their energy. Unfortunately this creates a breeding ground for gangs and violence especially when you combine it with excessive drug usage, territorial boundries and availability and easy access to weapons.

I think not. I remember when Europe was having terrorist attacks all the time. The IRA, the Red Brigade and many others. I think it may be an influx of information, the Internet, cable TV etc. that makes it seem like there is more. Many of the stories we have heard in the last coulpe of years seem more fiction then reality. When they find out the story was BS they just seem to forget but when that story was "if it bleeds it leads" they devoted more time then necessary to make the public afraid and that there were terrorists everywhere "they" looked.

the signs of the end times go to this link:
