I'm 39 weeks and just wondering what it is sex does, does it make you go into labor? How long after did labor start?

Our second child was brought into this world through a little (uncomfortable) love making. I knew in the second trimester that sex was causing cramping / contractions. As the pregnancy continued, i got braxton hicks when we had sex.
then i went in for my 37th week appt and found out i was 5 cm dialated and not going to make it to my due date. I quietly told my husband i was tired of being pregnant and this was our chance. we went upstairs and 20 minutes after sex, i was in full labor. 2 hours after sex, my water broke.

I had sex the nigth before I went into labor (about 7 hours before I started having labor Pains). I wasn't due for a week and 2 days. The baby was fine and so was the sex! Haha.

I has sex the night i went into labor but i dont know how long after that i went into labor i dont think it was that long though maybe a few hours

You're body produces oxytosin when you have sex. This hormone causes you to go into labor. Sex works! I've known people to go into labor that night like during sleep:) Good luck!

its not the sex that causes you to go into labor. its the hormones that are released during sex when having an orgasm that causes the uterus to contract, therefore, inducing the labor. For some this works, for some it doesn't. no two bodies are alike.

Sex can make you go into labor and if it's close to your due date, that's a good thing. It is perfectly ok.

My husand and I had sex....and about 6 hrs later, I was in labor....anout about 8 hrs after that...my daughter was born!! I wondered the same things about sex inducing labor, so we tried.....and it worked!! (or it was a conscience)

As long as your body is ready you will go into labor, otherwise you will have false labor

yes,with my first child the dr. told us to have sex alot i was due 12-22 and then on the 23rd we had sex and at 2:30 a.m. i went into labor and had her at 8:30 a.m.(did something around 11:p.m.)

I tried that when I was almost two weeks overdue....it didn't work. I was also walking a mile a day...that didn't work either. The truth is you just have to wait - the baby comes when the baby is ready. Good luck!
