Im a very atractive girl ,recently move to chicago from Brazil,dont have friends here,is okay to go out alone?

In a city like Chicago, I sure wouldn't want to try it. I wouldn't want to try it in any big (>25,000) city.
Seriously, it isn't a good idea to go out alone, especially at night. If you go to a large shopping area (mall), or on the streets where there are a lot of other people around you, you're probably safe. I hope you are planning to get a job soon; you'll make friends there quickly, and they will help you to learn to get around. There's "safety in numbers", so the larger the group you go with, the better. (There's a better chance that a mugger will pick on one of your friends--"better her than me".) As you get more experience and more friends to go with, then you can start to go out more in the evenings (with those same friends.) However--and this is a must, in Chicago or any other large city--NEVER, EVER let your friends leave you alone, even if it's with the handsomest hunk you've ever seen, if you've just met him (in a bar, for example.) Always, STAY WITH THE GROUP!! It'll keep you alive.

I'm not trying to scare you into staying cooped up in your apartment (house, whatever), but use some common sense; they do have that in Brazil, don't they??

Was it OK to go out alone in Brazil. It probably depended on what part of Brazil and what time of day. You are usually safe if you only go out with ten or twenty family members who are heavily armed. Remember, this is the United States, we have the highest murder rate in the world. The second highest is in Scotland. The highest in Scotland is in Glasgow. The highest murder rate in the US is in the south eastern states. It happens to be the area settled by the Scots. The next highest murder rates are in Australia and New Zealand. Also colonized by Scots. That may be why you don't hear many people calling themselves Scottish Americans.
Just kidding. I'm Scottish American. Watch out.
