Um...clean the cage? or put a air freshener near the cage so it doesnt smell up the room.

It's a filthy rodent ;what do you expect? Bath it, clean out the cage more often.. and if that doesn't work, a sand bath can provide hamsters with entertainment and help them groom. In the desert (their natural habitat) hamsters will roll around in the sand, which cleans their coats and prevents them from getting too oily. This is prolly SMELLY oil and is what makes it stink. A sand bath can be made by filling a heavy dish with clean sand.

is it a girl? they smell a little musky some days and there's nothing u can do about that. is the cage clean? make sure the pee corner is scooped clean & replaced every other day. there is a spray at the petstore u can spray in that corner---do not use unless it says it's for hamsters! DO NOT BATHE your hamster. it can cause their death. u can buy it chinchilla sand as suggested earlier but it may or may not use it. if it is really smelly it needs to see a vet because there is something wrong.

You can go to a pet store (a really good one) and get soap to give your hamster a bath with. Also you should change where he/she sleeps a lot and goes to the bathroom because it might accidently step on its droppings then sleep so that could be the smell. Cleaning the cage a lot and making sure their isnt a lot of wetness in the cage is a good tip also.So good luck with your hamtser i hope it smells good n not stinky soon!

your hamster should not have a bad smell. Is the cage clean and dry? If so, when you pick up the hamster, does it have wet areas on it's bottom? If so your hamster may have Wet-Tail, which is a disease in hamster and other small animals.

You may want to check and see if you can give it a bath or change its bedding more often. Hamsters dont usually have a bad smell..

Sorry sweetie, hamsters smell. Females are worse than males though, so I would go with males if you don't like the smell.

You have to bleach out their house and bedding. Also upon cleaning the bedding use baking soda for odors.
