1.seeing my grandmother suffer horribly from lung cancer and she was not even a smoker, her husband was, then she died and I think I still have not gotten over that, it was 16yrs ago.
2. Having my ex come back to me and our daughter after leaving us for another woman, getting over the heartache, then falling in love with him again after he came back just to find out he met some one else yet again and is madly in love with her. I can't even begin to explain the heartache all over again, the emotional and physical pain, and him treating her as number one in his life and his daughter number two............

I guess I'd have to say floating for 6 hours in the waters of Hurricane Katrina in Waveland, MS. Our house was lifted up by a tornado and thrown out into the driveway before the water came in. I'll never forget the sound of a tornado. Like a locomotive coming right at you. My husband and I (we were not in a flood zone) had to bail out of a window and tie ourselves to an ice chest. We lost everything. We left with a set of set clothes and a loaf of bread. Now things are better, but I don't think we'll ever get over the horror of that day. Feel very blessed to be alive.

Driving to my sister's house and seeing fire engines everywhere. Smoke was billowing out of the windows. She was in the ambulance, but some of her pets perished in the fire. She spent 1 1/2 months in the burn unit at a major hospital. I was with her everyday. They released her Christmas Eve that year. I learned a lot about burns. I learned we could both survive things we never thought possible.

Losing my job of ten and a half years, with no warning. The company was downsizing, and we were given one month's notice. Someone told the acting COO that I made angry comments, which I had not, and I was asked to leave one day later. I lost my job, my good salary, benefits, and I was not even allowed to say good-bye to my friends. That hurt for a long time.

Listening to somebody tell you that they don't love you, that they never have, after you poured your heart and soul out to them after a year of dating.

Shrinking to the size of an atom was the good plan...in reality, we had to rework our entire friendship...
