Hi Courtney,
First I will say that my answer is a generalization, and applies to most people, but may not apply to you.
The perfect age is when you are older than 26, and when you are in love, and when you have known the person for at least six months. There are very good reasons for all three.
For age 26: In Western culture, because of the way we are raised, many of us go through significant personality changes through our twenties. That could be said for every season in our lives, but the fastest, most significant change is before age 26 (and of course after age 18).
For Love: (self-explanatory)
For six months: This is the minimum period to get a handle on someone's character. To soon, and you may not have a chance to see what the person is really about.
I hope this helps you.

There is a lot a maturing that takes place between the years of 18 and 25.
Therefore, it is a safe bet to say that for the purposes of marriage waiting until 25 or over could be extremely beneficial to your mutual relationship.
Of course a variety of other factors will enter into this including the age of your boyfried. And, financial factors. I have seen too many break ups occur from a simple lack of funds that caused friction to brew in an otherwise healthy relationship.
Best wishes in the choices you make.
John
