Well I think that is a real insightful question and you have something there. If you analyze the asker's question I think that you can get clues as to whether they just want affirmation or are really in a quandry and want help. Sometimes by their vocabulary and spelling you can tell if they are young and naive in which case they really want help. Sometimes they sound like sanctimonious jerks who are practically scolding you and daring you to offer them advice that they really don't want to hear anyway.

It seems to me that it would be easier for lots of these question askers to use a search engine,but I guess thats just me.
Ex. How many song lyrics questions have you noticed?
There are a few types of questions that follow the same basic pattern on here.

Either genuinely seeking advice, or opinions, when they're sure it's an open-ended question.

I don't think usually. They often do, if their question is on politics or religion ... but they usually don't in some categories, like food & drink, and some others.

Sometimes, and others they need an answer they either don't wish to investigate themselves or one they don't know how to find the answer!@
