Sound like he has no idea what to say so he's playing "Let's Play Pretend Doctor".

first of all, unless your doctor is a dentist too and just took xrays, he's/she's prolly just guestimating off of experience. Your baby may just be really drooly and cranky (totally common even when not teething), but then again he might be. Try rubbing the gums with a cold rag, or give baby something to chew on. I wouldn't recommend any medicines until you have the doc's ok. My baby acted like she was teething from 2 months until about 5.5 months when she actually did finally teeth. Some are just that way! :)

Some babies are born without "tooth-buds" that make teeth on either the lower/top or both. Some of the teeth are pointed sideways or in the wrong direction. Some children don't teeth until 2-3 years old. SEE A PEDIATRIC DENTIST! These are the best and will be the least stressful on your child!

What kind of signs? Sometimes a mother may think her baby has the signs of teething but these signs may not really be related to it. Your baby's discomfort might be a result of some viral infections and other causes. But if you really believed that your baby is starting to have his/her first tooth, observe for a few weeks and see if something would come out from your baby's gums. If not, your doctor may be right about it.

well I don't know what all of the signs are but I do know what one of the signs look like, when his teeth are poking through his gums, as far as anything else when you see that then you know for sure that he is teething, if that is the case already and the doctor says that he is not teething then the doctor is a quack and it's time for you to get a new doctor, hope this helps you in some way

Like it was stated, he is about to teeth. How old is he? Because the baby has all the signs but hasn't cut a tooth, it still may take quite awhile. My daughter had teething signs forever but didn't actually cut a tooth until she was a year old.

My first child started "teething" very early but did not actually pop any teeth until about nine months. Get some teething rings and let the kid have at them.

You know doctors are not gods and don't know everything. If I would've listened to my doctors I wouldn't have breastfed my baby. A mother knows best. If you think he's teething then he's teething.

He might just have a cold. Sometimes when teeth come in, they go in and out and that's heck on your little one. Infant Tylenol might still help.

If your baby is drooling, has loose stools, fussy, he is probably teething, which means teeth may appear soon.
My children got their first tooth @ 3 mos.

It means that the baby has symptoms that they would have while teething, but he is not teething yet.
