I always felt like it was a bad omen; that bad things were in the future. But really I do not think that it means anything other than the clouds were full and needed to empty.

Well, Petunia!! HERE in the DEEP south, When it rains we say "Bless be the sole that the Rain falls on"--- and on a wedding day we say "Blessed be the couple that the sun shines on"---- As our weather can GO from bad to good quickly!!! If it was raining at your loved ones funeral---only means that the clouds were crying..... GOD Bless------ Cajunjo

I think of it as joy that the person could be in a better place or that the rain is gods sorrow of a soul that was lost

Well someone once told me that it means that God and the Devil are fighting for thier soul. Not really sure what I think about that

I think it means either tears from heaven or that maybe its a chance for things to grow again or idk ... Maybe the person didn't like their funeral or maybe they're hurting too and they want to express that somehow to their loved ones .. maybe to show their relatives/friend that they're there.
I truly believe that, and I don't rly care what anyone else thinks about that. :]
