Correct me if I'm wrong so far. Or fumble recoveries. I've seen the team I root for recover a fumble then end up punting and I feel stupid for having got so excited when the recovered the fumble.

it's all about having fun, really, but interceptions and fumbles and sacks don't happen too often, so it's cool too see.

Interceptions are exciting because they not only stop the other team from scoring but offer an opportunity for the defense to score themselves.

Sacks are exciting because it indicates that the other team has beat the offensive line and hit the quarterback directly. This also downs the ball back in the offense team's back field dealing a great set back to the team trying to score.

It is the spur of the moment thing, right ? Part of the excitement is to watch the unknows unfolded. If not, everyone just do their own thing and watch the scores at the end of the game.

The fumble and intercepts are stopping the other team scoring and giving you team a chance to score.
