You know, I don't have an answer for that. I do know that it occurrs way to frequently. Not only in yahoo, but in workplace surroundings, even in church gatherings. The people that cannot keep from saying nice things about others generally are really not happy with themselves. They find themselves lacking but don't know why. So, be cruel to the ones that you envy. That seems to be their #1 rule. Just don't let people hurt you when they do these things. Its because they are small inside. Makes them feel big when they hurt others. So, don't let them know they hurt you. Smile at them....make them feel even smaller. Thats all I know to do...work with several that are small minded...lol.
