do you win or do you lose.I hate to debate with a passion.So when it starts to get heated I usually back off! So I guess I lose! Whatever! lol

it goes either way. the key is to back-off when you know your out. you know what i mean. theres no reason to go at it for 20 minutes when OBVIOUSLY 2+2 does not =5. also, if you dont REALLY know what youre talking about, ease-up.

most of the time people get heated because they can't get out what they are trying to say in a concise manner. i have learned to shut up, do my research, and go back after them with facts (not emotions) they usually do the backing off then but do keep an open mind when debating, you can always learn something about the topic under discussion or the art of debating. people give themselves away in their reactions to your rebuttals.

I am usually so bull-headed that I stick to my guns and won't back down, even if I realize later oh yeah boy was I wrong, I still defended my position adamantly enough to either win outright or the other person backed down in the strength of my convictions :)

I never debate an issue unless I know a lot about the subject matter and know I can make vakid and undisputed points.

You only ''lose'' hon, when you let the other one get the best of you....you can't change other people....for example, I'm an avid Democrat....I avoid neocon zealots anymore, because I know their stupidity just disgusts me and there is no way to change them, so I just go my own way and let them keep on being stupid.
