It's just like an advertisemen, like a bright wrapper for a candy. Attracts attention. But it is not sure to hold the long-term attention if there is nothing more there than looks.

It is true that without physical attraction things are much harder, but it is far from being everything. I have been on dates with girls that i didn't really find attractive, but they were fun to be around.
