He's being punished because he's an idiot for believing in Scientology. They just use celebrities as a front. They are nothing but theiving cultists who take simple minds and put them to work for their organization and never let them have a life for themselves ever again. Believe it baby.

Tom Cruise is being punished b/c Hollywood companies don't want their stars promoting anything religious,political or his love life b/c they know it will hurt the attendance at his movies.....Who wants to go watch a tom cruise movie when hes jumping up and down on Oprah's couch? That's not the Tom Cruise we love.....We love the Mans man he is not the lovey dovey side hes been showing......thanks jae

Tom Cruise is being punished because he has on too many occasions engaged his mouth before his brain. Being a celebrity is much like being a politician: everything out of your mouth has to be checked, rechecked, and double rechecked by your common sense before you begin speaking. He has offended the primary audience that paid to see him act, women. No matter what his own personal beliefs are, he should have kept them to himself if he wanted to retain that audience. He chose not to and now he is reaping what he's sown. It's all about the audience and the bottom line.

No, he was fired for acting stupid in public and forcing his views
on everyone while insulting those that are of a different opinion then himself. He is acting like a know it all and he really knows nothing about the things he is ranting about. Telling Brook Shields
about having depression after her baby was born, what the heck
does he know? Also, this crap about not yelling out during
childbirth, he's really some kind of screwball. As much as I love
his films, personally I can't stand him and by the looks of it, the
people he works with and for must be sick of him also.

No he is being fired for being an idiot and causing too much controversy, in plain english the man is an idiot. There are many scientologists whohappen to be big name celebrities, it has nothing to do with not being christian. Christianity is not the end all and be all...get over it.

No. I've always liked him in movies and thought he was very entertaining, but it's hard to like him as much as I once did. His insane couch-jumping antics on Oprah Winfrey were ridiculous, his put-down of Brooke Shields for taking post-partum medication was offensive, his saying to Matt Lauer that he knows all about psychology was delusional, etc. He did himself no favors by these and several other incidents.

Well, there are plenty of unsaved folk in the acting industry and have great careers. but in this case i think he is being punished for his attitude. he acts like he is all that or something. like that one time he cussed that guy out for shooting water at him from his microphone. i thought the water thing was funny, tom didnt have to act like that. plus on oprah he was jumping around places and acting a nut. and who is he to say that taking anti-depressants is bad thing?? i dont know, i think he needs this reality check. A "proud" Christian? What happened to Christian humility? What happened to non judgemental Christianity? Is this gossip and speculation you speak of?....is "THAT" being Christian TOO?
There is a great distance between being a real Christian and those who just act "RELIGIOUS"!

If I acted like that I would have been fired, too. He made mucho dinero for Paramount for many years & that's the bottom line in any business. His nuttiness, not his religious affiliations, are causing his current problems. Someone needs to tell him no occasionally - he really needs a reality check.
