I know, I know... it's a pain. However, the court order is likely such that child support is SUPPOSED to be paid on a monthly basis and instead you're waiting until tax refund time (once a year) to pay her anything. Like it or not, hubby had a child and should have been helping support that child all those years and, apparently, didn't. Therefore, he has to refund his ex-wife for all those years she carried the financial burden alone. He's lucky he's not in jail.

Generally speaking a "child" reaches majority in the eyes of the law at 18 and at that time child support is no longer payable by law.
To make sure of the status of the child support, your Husband should consult the court order obtained when he divorced.
The ex may have had reason to complain previously as child support is usually payable every month, but now your husband is no longer legally obligated to pay any support for the daughter. Next time the ex calls tell her to go fly a kite.

First of all, if his daughter is 21, he is not responsible for child support on her. Does he have any other children through his ex? If not, then his ex has no claim and no case, as long as his child support amount is paid and all arrears are paid.
As far as her treats and harassments, record the phone calls. All you have to do is notify her that the call is recorded, regardless of whether or not she consents to it. Use this as evidence of harassment. Next get an attorney and press charges of harassment, mental and emotional abuse, and a restraining order. This will teach his ex to bite her tongue a little bit!!!!

It's called Parental Alienation Syndrome, and attempted or real, it happens a whole lot more than you think. You get harassed because the ex has a whole lot of issues that need to be examined. She doesn't have her ex, and she damn well doesn't want anybody else to have him But my question is, why is she harassing you about CS now when the kid is 21?

If the IRS is pulling the child support from your tax return, your husband is truly a dead beat dad as that is the last resort. Basically, if they can't get money out of you throughout the year or you owe back support, they pull it from the taxes. This makes me believe that their is a possibility that maybe the "ex" has something to gripe about. Do yourself a favor and tell your husband to PAY HIS DAMN SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to the police and get them to get a restraing order against her.
If teh daughter is 21 then she can see her father anytime she wants to and the mother can;t do anything about it.
Also if she is 21 your husband should not be paying child support.

I'd say get an answering machine to answer and record her calls. Keep the messages, take her to court and get a restraining order. She'll look like the lunatic since she is the one ranting and raving.
This happened with my in-laws. My mom in laws "tactics" backfired on her! The judge was so shocked at her recorded tyrads that the back due child support (granted, there wasn't much) was cancelled and she was told to grow up!

Give her what she wants and she will go away. She did her job, what is owed couldn't ever be done for less. Relist your phone number.
