...know what i mean?? why is it that we see so much of all this debating and bickering and nastiness in yahoo answers? isn't the beauty of yahoo answers that we're all united on one site enjoying such diversity? if we wanted to fight, couldn't we stomp on our downstairs neighbors or fight with our siblings?!

Not necessarily, there are a lot of people who are more than happy to bash, criticize, hate on and disrespect others...especially in a forum like this. Here, you can be anonymous and hide behind a screen name and avatar. I wonder if some of these people would have the audacity to say half the things they do in person.

I agree that this should be a forum that celebrates diversity and allows us all to learn from each other. That's how I try to approach this site. I'll have to be honest and say that there have been times that I've lost my temper here, and I'll probably loose it again. But that's part of human nature.

Speaking of debating. I'm all about it. That's why I come here. To see how other people think. Of course, I'm always happy to be around people that agree with me. Makes life much simpler! :) But, it's the ones who don't agree, or the ones that have a different viewpoint....those are the folks I'm most interested in! A debate, which is an exchange of ideas and philosophies can be so intellectually stimulating. It's when it degenerates into name calling and foot stomping that I have to draw the line.

Try to ignore the haters. There are a lot of wonderful people here who want to talk, exchange ideas, be silly and learn. Just keep looking for them, and let the rest fade into the background.

Jenny it's still a debate thing. people will always bicker if there is only one of them. When I first came one here most of the comments to my questions was (even email) about the spelling:):). it seams some people don't know how to answer anyone except find fault with something, and as they can't evidently deal with facts or education the look for misspell words( I bet they stay up all night trying to locate a misspelled word). Most of the answers or emails I received on it about spelling had misspelled words in them. hopefully they are in remission or therapy by now. If the government had as many cops as yahoo does spelling cops there would be no crime. I enjoy questions and answers and most of my points are from best answers, but you run into some real nut cases out here who fell compelled to try to get you deleted or posts deleted because they disagree or just plain meaness. These little twisted perverts know who they are:), yet continue to try to make life hard for everyone. They are hackers of the debate clubs only out to make life miserable for everyone they can. If you don't like something posted just ignore it or tell your opinion. running to yahoo with it is like a child running to it's momma because some one called you some thing. I think you have the right idea and attitude::), but you are fighting the current.
