I feel that way sometimes..trying to make a living, trying to make enough to pay bills, trying to get ahead - being in that financial state makes life drudgery.... Just so I can get to a place someday where I can have a nice home on a big piece of land and have some kids - own a business that I care about and that makes me alot of money to keep up the things I want in life.....
That "something more" is probably what ever you want it to be - and it is different for every one. You have to figure out what you want and try to strive to get it. Trying to figure out what that thing is - is sometimes the hardest part.

Life is pretty much the same every day over and over but I don't know if I would call it dreary drudgery or not. Boring at times and lack of getting what you want or need adds to it. But all in all life is good, But I would have to say there is not much more then life it's self. Once it is gone it is gone so have fun if you can of the rest of the world will allow it.

Life is to procreate. Time would still march on even without us here. We have no divine purpose in the universe, only to those around us that matter. Therefor, life really is what you make of it. You are in total control, love will find you when you want it to, as will pain and suffering; you have to decide what your purpose here will be or else yes, life will just be dreary, drudgery with procreation as your only purpose.

Yes it sure seems to be with a little good once in awhile. I could go for a lot more of the good stuff, but I'm not holding my breath. the best thing to do is find what really makes you happy and spend as much time as you can doing whatever that is. For me it's spending time with my granddaughter, my dog, and enjoying the outdoors. believe me there is never enough of any of these. the times in between are lousy and I think they will probably stay that way. I'm not an unhappy person, but I think life should be alot more than this. I don't go for the God and Bible nonsense.

I recommend reading the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible. The writer, King Solomon of Israel, goes through a very long rant on the futility of life. It can be a very depressing book, but at the end he refers to one thing that gives life meaning, God. Solomon was a king, rich by any worldly standard, and a man of wisdom; he tried everything there was in life, but there was only one thing that could really make it meaningful. All of the rest was "Meaningless, meaningless! ...A chasing after the wind!"
Without God, we are just some very new sentient life-forms which will cease to exist individually and collectively in a very short amount of time. With God, we have Hope, Love, something more.

Life is hard and very unfair most usually.
It is the small things that make life worth it.
Like the way you feel when you are in love or the way you feel when you accomplish something that perplexes you.
It can be a great many things, You just have to be able to recognize them when they appear.

Those who find God tend to be happier. I place my faith in God, not the Bible, but that still may be a window for you to look into.
