Harry said that if there was a way, he would find a way back. So far, he hasn't. Does he need more time? Did he not find the way? He's been dead for a very long time.

I'm not a "I know it's for certain" person. Too many absolutes clog a persons creativity. So for me just because Harry Houdini's wife couldn't contact him doesn't make me say that there is NO way that someone could commune with the dead. Maybe she wasn't attuned or maybe it just wasn't meant to be for husband and wife to talk beyond the grave, I don't know if there are true psychics but I always try to keep an open mind for all things.

I don't believe that all have the power to stay on this side of the curtain. Once a being passes into the light, I don't think that they can come back. Only those souls that can't or will not let go, stay here and can communicate in some way with the living.

I agree. Houdini said that he would prove there was an afterlife by making contact from beyond the grave and he never, ever did.

He was into spiritualism very much, and this question really makes one think. Although his wife....was it....Betsy? I can't quite remember.....was never contacted during a seance, I don't think she ever quit trying to make the attempt to reach through the curtain between life and death.

It's funny, but we hold on so *tight* to those we love, that although sad to have no contact, I don't think she lost hope. No one can prove, or disprove, what lies beyond....and that is a mystery which will keep people searching for answers.

I Believe.....that all things are possible until evidence is presented that whatever it is, is impossible. :)

Maybe because Harry spent alot of his time and money proving every single psychic was a fake, that "the powers that be" showed him who was "boss" and wouldn't allow him to contact Bess until she was in the afterlife herself...as a form of punishment....possible?

I think it's a random thing and cannot be called up to order, it just happens,

This is too true. I don't believe in tarot cards or seances or mediums (smalls or larges???) because it is all hokum, just like Santa, the Easter Bunny, and Jesus.
