Snoopy and Fang have a problem. Snoopy keeps running on the wheel, and he is scared of my finger. He is really fast. Fang keeps twitching when she falls asleep. Is she having nightmares? They are both 5 days old. My prized hamster, Mysty, died 6 days ago. I loved her enough to let her nibble on my food, and if she didnt like it, I would eat the rest. For god sakes, I gave her a hamster sized crypt! How do I get over it?

Are you sure you have the five day old part right?

If you meant five weeks old or longer, I would tell you that it's normal hamster behavior. Some hamsters are afraid of people and it may really be afraid of you and is using the wheel to avoid contact. Any animal with a brain has the capability of brain activity while asleep (dreaming). Whether it's actually dreaming is a matter of conjecture on a human observer as to whether it's just a muscle twitch, heightened brain activity or what we call 'dreaming' for humans.

all animals and humans dream. the way that fang twitches probably means she's dreaming or something. snoopy is probably just anxious and not used to the surrounding area yet.

its always hard to get over the death of an animal that you've really loved. it takes time. give it time and it'll go away sooner or later

I was studying this thing about dreams, and it said every mammal has dreams, some may twitch every now and then because of the random brain impulses that causes dreams every 90 min., their eyes may move around in their sleep too, its no nightmare, just normal

I dont know - why dont you go screw yourself? YOU are a rat with no tail!

I am terribly sorry for your loss. I know, it is awful when a pet dies, even a rodent. Hamsters have big personalities and it really hurts when they die.
