it gets better i promise. if you really want to take pointe, your feet will get used to the abuse. i did it for years and finally quit, but you will be okay. i think it's smarter not to do pointe, just stick to ballet and modern. it's not necessary, but if you want to do it, you'll be okay. it hurts from time to time, but generally you'll get used to the abuse.

After class, just soak them in hot water but not to burn your feet. Then take this rubbery stuff, very stretchy, loose rubber (probably can get it at Lynches or a workout place) and massage your feet by flexing and pointing them. Put the rubber in both hands and on the bottom of your foot. Sit down on the ground and lift your foot in the air, just keep pointing and flexing! I was on pointe for three or four years...still am but I quit two ears ago, I just do it at home, anyway...thats what I did and I started to get used to it! Hope this helps!

Put the toe pad on. Wrap the pad in toilet paper and put your foot in. THis will work in you have room/space in it. Then stand on pointe. See a difference? 2 toe pads on one foot may not be approved by your teacher but really does relieve pain.

For no blisters wrap the toes that get blistereed (individually) in tap. NOT DUCK TAP! but masking tape or clear tape.

Trust me,after a while, you get used to the pain. But to reduce it, there are tons of things now. It used to just be cotton padding and stuff, but now there are gel ones that REALLY help. You will never be completely comfortable in them. I would know. And sometimes your toes bleed due to the stress on your feet. And in your later years, if you continue pointe, your toes will be permanently squashed in something kind of like the position they are in when you dance.

Well, I just started last year, and the shoes hurt like crazy. A good way to break them in is to work them with your hands. Bend them and keep dancing in them, even if they still hurt. It also depends on the shoe, like if it's Bloch it will take forever to break in or if it's Capezio it will take a lot less longer.

get toe pad if u can, they feel better than the lambs wool. sounds impossiable @ first but the more u practice the less they will hurt. try putting ice or a cold cloth on them after class. something that also really helped me when i first started was that i took advil b4 class helps the pain. i no it hurts but keep goin w/ it. you'll b glad u did! GOOD LUCK! :)

I don't do pointe, I do Latin. (it's danced in strappy sandals on 3" heels) Balls of my feet burned and blistered after every practice for the whole first year. What helped is alterating warm and cold foot baths in the evening. It really does get better after your muscles develop and the skin gets a little thicker.

i use the toe pads that are reversible: one side gel the other side cloth (they're called Gellows) and they are really great. if you just use the regular toe pads-Ouch Pouches or Foam pads, then adding some lambs wool will probably help too. make sure to keep your toenails cut low and at night, you should soak and massage your feet

toe pads, tape, moleskin, Vaseline, tissues, lambs wool, cotton, Oragel, the list goes on and on. the best thing to do is find a older dancer at your studio and ask her to teach you her tricks.
by the way I could help you more if you said what exactly is hurting.

lamb's wool in the toes, mole skin over the parts getting rubbed, soak your feet after, bandaids over the blisters when wearing your regular shoes

it gets better with a little time

If you are serious about learning pointe then you have to deal with it until your toes toughen up. I never did ballet, but I can imagine it being very hard. Good luck to you.
