There are a great deal of people in the religion and spirituality section that practice intolerance. People on this board seem to answer questions instead of proselytize their own beliefs.

Some people don't believe Wicca is a
Religion. Some believe it is more a
way of life than religion! I am one of
those people that believe that but
I don't have any questions about that
cause many articles and
writers have answered my
questions about that! some writers
of the subject :Ray Bucklund. Charles R.Marborough, Lwellyn, Scott Cunninghan, Jupiter House, Finbarr International.
Gavin & Yvonne Frost,
Fate Magazine & others! Wicca is
a religion to Some. Different strokes
for different folks. Some believed Jesus
used the Occult powers but then the
powers were all under Gods control
so some believed. Whose to say they
are right or wrong I'm not saying and
I'm not going to say how I believe here.
People don't need to know everything
about me! Let there be a little mystery
about me! Note I didn't say I was into
the stuff. You can read stuff and
not be into it. I even read Mechanic
magazines but I'd be terrible as a
Mechanic! Oops maybe I went off
topic sorry about that! But I answered
your question right off at the start so
you didn't have to read any farther!

Well wicca gets alot of it's content from myths, but it is in fact a protected religion

Witchcraft is a legally recognized religion in the
United States,as declared in 1985, Dettmer V. Landon
(617 E Supp.529) the District Court of Virginia pursuant
to rule 52a of the Rules of Civil procedure. Reaffirmed
in 1986 in the Federal Appeals Court, Fourth Circuit, Butzner J.
(592 F. 2d. 934) Henceforth, Witchcraft and Witches are
protected under the United States Constitution (Amendment I;XIV)

Valid point. Its one of those catches. Those who ask about wicca on here don't think of it as a religion, those who post the questions on R&S get mobbed for being satanic, evil, and going to hell.

Theres no happy middle ground, really.

Some people still do not count Wicca as a religion because there is so much myth and folklore associated with it.

I wonder what is your criteria for religious? Does it need to be around for 2000 years or more, have dogma and rituals and some preacher on tv asking for money to save you? Because these things don't make me think religious.
Or is it something you feel to be true? That is what wiccia/pagan is for me. I can't prove it's true but neither can any other major religion.

Probably because many people consider it to be mythology or folklore. However the more pervading reason is that there might be less conflict here than in the religious category. imho

Good question. Short answer is that we choose not to see Wiccans as religious, although the opposite is true.
