If you are asking when the gender of a child is determined, it happens at conception. Every sperm has either a Y chromosome or an X chromosome. If a sperm with a Y chromosome fertilizes the egg, you end up with a boy. If a sperm with an X chromosome fertilizes the egg, you end up with a girl.

Laura is right. The genitals of boys and girls look the same, neither overtly male nor overtly female for the first stages of development. When the testosterone from the Y chromosome kicks in, then the genitals of the boy start to protrude to make a shaft for the penis. If testosterone is not present in the right amount, then the genitals will start to form female "bits" for the vagina. This naturally occurs for girls. For a very tiny percentage of boys, for one reason or another, the testosterone does not kick in, a vagina is formed, even though the foetus is genetically a boy!

By 'default' we're kind of female until the Y chromosome turns on and testosterone kicks in to form the male sex organs. Though males never have full female parts. But for the first 6 months the child is still whichever sex they're going to be. It's not as clear cut as the question you're trying to ask. It's not like we're all female and then suddenly males will become male. It doesn't work like that.

The gender of the child is decided at conception. They are one or the other from the second the egg is fertilized.

That said, I think your'e a troll, because no one would seriously "need" to know the answer to that.
