Yes, he craves your attention and the more irritated you get, the more he'll enjoy it. But he's just teasing. When you break down in frustration, I'd bet he'd back off and do his best to seek your forgiveness. Whatever his age is, he's behaving like a teenage school bully. Ignore him and eventually he'll toe the line.
