I`m Italian and I will be staying in the US for a long time. If I buy an American NSTC PS3, will it work with European PAL videogames?

Sony has announced that the PS3 will be region free, but it only applies for PS3 games. PS and PS2 games still have the region lock. So no worries if you decide to buy an PS3 import, but playing an import PS2 on a PS3 is another matter.

Yeah, PS3 could play in any of the countries, just like PS2 when I was in VietNam I played PS2 games at a store for $4,000 VND(15,000 VND= $1 USD) it's about 36 cents for 1 hour play. Buy it!!!

you may not exchange a PS3 console's area. If it won't play them, there's no longer something you're able to do to make it play them. you may desire to get a refund (and pay interest to the close by coding of the subsequent discs you purchase).
