I broke my habbit about a year ago. For some reason one day I got my regular Dr. Pepper and I don't know why, it just nausiated me. So I was ruined from that experience. I guess you have to gross yourself out with it somehow lol. I ended up loosing 16 pant sizes after that. It took me 6 months.
Be careful though, because when I first stopped my habbit, my blood sugar dropped because I was so use to having it. It took a while to get my blood sugar back in check.
Honestly though. A couple of months ago, I got back into the habbit. Not as bad as before. I try to drink the "Water Coolers" now. You know the 0 fat 0 calorie natuarly flavored sparkling water.

I switched to a great sport drink, after a few says of drinking That I had no desire to drink soda because I felt so good! By th way avoid splenda and NutraSweet like the plague. My wife is fighting cancer due to these products! Unfortunately the sport drink I have is not available on store shelves, I tried those and they did not help. If you want to find out why artificial sweeteners are bad for you check the link below.

well actually i have been trying to do this myself....and i just try to buy less of soda...and i have bought lemon tea and that takes water so i hope that is more healthy....and i bought some bottled water too... but i read that soda especially coke and dark colored soda, can be used even for cleaning the stool, grease and i forget what all...it has not broke me yet but when i think of all the things it can eat up i wander what is this doing to my stomach...i use to buy so many cases a month and i just try to do without...but i do still splurge and i know it is cheaper to buy it buy the case than in a pop machine...so i am not broke yet...but keeping thinking like i do and know how bad it is for us..they say soda is one of the worst things we can drink...i think the clear soda is suppose to be better for us...but it is something that we have to basically have to cut out a little at a time.....and i can't say not buy it cause then you go top pop machines and just waste money paying more for it...that does not go so good with my finances either....so just work at it is all i know...take one day at a time and try to cut down on it....have you ever wandered though why they make all this stuff then go and say it is not good for us....think about that...just like healthy food is more expensive...it makes no sense to me....

I personally stopped drinking soda cold turkey on October 29, 2000. It's been almost 6 years. I was addicted too
I can tell you from experience that it's better to stop from one day to another. Replace your soda drinks with 0 calorie flavored drinks (they taste exactly like soda have no calories) and move onto regular filtered water. Just drink A LOT of water day by day and you'll develop a taste for it. Once you develop a taste for water you'll eventually forget about soda.

OK the best way to stop drinking soda is to fill your glass half with water then half with soda. If that doesn't work try carbonated water and fruit juices. It taste great and it has the soda fizz without all the sugar

Try to ween yourself off it like you would a drug. You got down to one soda a day, try to decrease to 1/2 a soda, then decrease from there. This is especially the best way to do it if you believe you are addicted to the caffeine, as a sudden decrease will trigger extremely painful headaches and sudden spikes and drops in energy.

I gave up soda for Lent and I made it. Now i drink milk with every meal. Stop buying soda all together. if you don't buy it, you can't drink it. You can have it occasionally, but not every day.

I don't know...I have the same problem. I do know someone who drank sugared soda and then sugar-free soda for years, and it rotted out his teeth. We need to stop before it does the same to us! Good luck!!
