I recommend Ortho Tricyclen Lo first. It has low hormones so it wont be such a shock on your body. However if it isn't strong enough to regulate your flow which is possible, you could switch to a different kind. But for starters I think ortho tricyclen lo would be the best bet. In order to get birth control you have to see your gynocologist who will recommend the best birth control for you.

All birth control pills are pretty much the same when it comes to regulating your period but it does depend on the person. You just have to figure out which pill is best for you by trial and error. Personally, I had to try several different kinds until I found the right one for me which is ortho-tricyclen. I'm scared of the patch, my sister-in-law got pregnant while she was on the patch.

I have seen that the birth control pill is the best. From what I understand is there is a week that you take the inactive pill and that sends a signal to your body to start your period.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen
PS, while Depo does eventually cause many women to stop having periods this may take up to a year. The time in between can be a nightmare for some with irregular bleeding and other complications.

i've taken orthotricyclen before but it sucks because just about the time your body gets used to one level of hormones, it changes. i was a psychofreak and had to get off those things! i changed to a constant low-level estrogen and felt much better. the only problem was that i was forgetting to take them. if i had to take birth control anymore, i would do the patch thing cause it would be constant and you could never forget to take it. good luck. i was a late starter for my period too and had irregular ones. it's just awful... :)

You need to discuss this with your doctor. Sometimes it is trial and error. Everyone;s body reacts differently. Your doctor is the best person to answer your questions and to monitor what he/she prescribes.
