There are two wires that come from the top of the monitor (inside) and go down into the additional memory area and they are taped together. What are they for?

Plus, my laptop won't boot up and the power LED flashes amber 8 times and then pauses, and starts flashing again.....does anyone know what this means?

the two wires are leads for your wireless card, if you have one, and they serve as antennae for the wireless card. The code means that there is something wrong with the motherboard. It looks as if it may need to be replaced. I know this because I'm a Toshiba certified technician
