every counties school systems leave out information that, that could cast a negative image on that countries wartime or civil rights abuse. I dont remember who said it, (I think it was General Patton) but the most appropriate quote I remember hearing is that, history books are written by the winners. this is certainly true of our own history concerning the civil war here in the states. luckilly this country doesnt make the loosers burn all thier notes and sooner or later the opposing view point usually comes to light so at least for us who study history we do not need to limit ourselves to a purely one sided propaganda rich view of historical events

You went farther than we did--our history stopped at WWII. (Of course, I've been out of school for 25 years). It may be partly because the people who write the textbooks are like me--the Vietnam War happened during their lifetimes, so it may hurt their pride to admit that it's history. I don't think we're covering things up as badly as other countries, though. Look at Japan--they emphasize how terrible the dropping of the bombs was, but never mention Pearl Harbor, the rape of Nanking, or the other atrocities they committed.

The schools are not about to make the United States look bad. Do you think any other country teaches everything their country did wrong during wars and other events. No I don't think so. You want to make yourself look as good as possible.

Don't worry so...when you get into college you will learn what really happened...They don't want you to know the truth when you are young so you will believe what they want you to know.
Did you know 2 weeks before Pearl Harbor was attacked the US knew all about it. They allowed it to happen for sensationalism and they knew if our fathers, brothers, and uncles were killed, the people(US) would want retaliation so it was a good time to test the A bomb on the Japanese people.

Your school is probably teaching you anti-American propoganda already because that's all the schools do these days. As for your own personal schooling...you get an F for question composition.
