Try installing the setup CD for that printer. Insert the CD on your CD-DRIVE or mostly it automatically ran the setup wizard while you inserted the CD and then follow the instructions.

Try it...there is no harm in trying anyway. Good luck!

do this..click on start, then control panel, then add remove programs..after the list has loaded look for any other printers that maybe installed in the computer (ones with a different name or model) and remove those with these steps.. click on it and then click remove. do this for any strange printers found.... then go back to start click, then look for, find. or search click ... then look down list to all files and folders..click ... then in search bar put in name of the printer. wait a few minutes for list, then right click on any files that show up and delete to recycle bin, then empty recycle bin. then try your new printer..if this doesn't solve the problem try reinstalling you new printer software, by deleting the program using the same steps... then reinstalling it

go to start-control panel-system-hardware-device manager. Find printer right click and uninstall. Restart computer with printer cd in drive and reinstall printer. Assuming you are running serial or usb.

Did you make sure the printer that you are trying to use is the one selected when you go to: File-->Print
To make sure it is always selected you want to go to your control panel: start-->Control Panel-->Printers & Faxes-->then right click on the printer you want as the default printer and click on the line that says "set as default printer". Hope this helps. This also assumes your using XP.
