The levels described in the first answer can be further broken down into broad approaches to the curriculum. For example, for a bachelor's degree, there is the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (focusing on Arts & Letters, or Liberal Arts, including the basic sciences), Bachelor of Science (B.S.) (usually focusing more on applied disciplines, such as Engineering), and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) (focusing on the visual and performing arts).
A Master's degree can include the same divisions (MA, MS, MFA), plus more, such as Masters of Social Work (MSW), Master of Education (MEd), and the well-known, Master of Business Administration (MBA).
