The wheel alignment is off on the vehicle, that throws off the camber which will cause the tires to unevenly wear on the outsides. Overinflation of the tires would cause a abnormal wear in the center of the tires because more air would round out the tire and only the center portion would be touching the pavement so I would rule that theory out. More than likely its the wheel alignment.

It appears that the front end alignment is incorrect (incorrect camber), steering stabilizer is worn out or defective, front shocks/struts are worn/defective or the vehicle is being driven too aggressively in curves. But I think the most likely cause is improper wheel alignment. Worn front suspension components can contribute to the problem as well.

GM brand SUVs have a problem with front ends. My brother bought a Jimmy and had to replace the entire front end two weeks later. My Dad is also having front end problems with his Blazer.
Buy an Explorer! We have never had any problems with ours!
