Does anyone agree with me that Tom Bombadil should have been in Fellowship of the Ring?? He was 1 of my favorites in the book, and I was extremely dissapointed that Pete Jackson didn't include him in the movie.

I didn't read the books until after the first movie and I was very dissappointed the Tom wasn't included. He seemed like such a strong character and embodied what was magical about Tolkien's world. I still think the trilogy is one of the best pieces of cinema ever, though.

I totally agree with you, i understand that not everything from the book could be in the movie, but Tom Bombadil was a really important character of the first book and should be at least mentioned someway

I believe that Jackson made frequent reference in his pre-release interviews about the Tom Bombadil sequence from "LOTR." He regretted that he wasn't able to use it, but...think about it: a 1,500-page epic can't ALL be distilled down into even 9 hours of film. Something(s) had to be cut.
