i.e. the New York Yankees cap is a classic, and the Pittsburgh Pirates have had several great cap designs. what are others? give team name (doesn't have to be a baseball team) and approximate year of issue.

I'm guessing here: I suspect it has to do with the age old "don't wear your hat inside the house" tradition however, being a pub / bar as silly as this sounds I suppose a drinking drunken idiot could take offense to the logo / team that was on a baseball cap and could start a rawl in the establishment. So many idiotic rules nowadays for even more idiotic reasons I doubt I would find the real reason if I injured.

Pittsburgh Pirates, of the 80's. Yellow with black stripping. Classic cap that looks good. The cap stand the test of time and is a big seller of retro baseball caps.

Well....some classics that I liked that aren't around anymore were the Brewers from the 80's the log had a Mb that gave the illusion of a baseball glove
The Indians caps with Chief wahoo on it was cool.....the only native american that looked hispanic
The orioles bird cap from the 70's with the comic bird was cool
The white sox seem to be the champions when it comes to changing cap designs
intertwined SOX block letters........cartoons...all types
The all time champ may be Willie stargell's pirates caps with stars for special acheivement......throw back designs in gold or black....1978 vintage
Vote for ugliest goes to the 70's expos multi color monstrosity

The Houston Astros 1975 Orange cap, blue star, with white H. The rainbow jerseys sucked, but the cap is a classic.

Minor league teams always have the coolest hats. And since they are rarer they stand out more in a crowd. I like the Lake County Captains of Class A ball.

The Pittsburgh Pirates hats from the 1970's are my favorite. They were the pill box type of hats that were worn in early 1900's and they were so unique. Some people hated them but I loved them and still have one.

Yankees have off the chain hats, White Sox, LA dodgers, Pittsburg, and Atlanta are my favorites.

I myself always loved the Montreal Expos logo and the cap for some reason. I just wish I knew what their logo meant.
